I have never surfed before. Is this suitable for me?
Yes! We have lesson options for everyone from first timer to experienced surfers.

Where do we meet you for our lesson?
For our Matarangi lessons the meeting point is the Matarangi Village Green Reserve at the end of Kenwood Drive, Matarangi.
For our Whitianga lessons the meeting point is the Buffalo beach reserve (beside the outdoor gym).
What do I need to bring?
Just a towel and some sunscreen. We supply the board and wetsuit with your lesson.
Do you supply a surfboard with the lesson?
Yes we do, we have a wide range of boards to suit your ability.
Do you supply a wetsuit with the lesson?
Yes, absolutely. We supply steamers which are a long arm and long
leg wetsuit. This ensures you are kept nice and warm but also protection
for your knees and the sun.
We have an extensive range of sizes and spring suits are available too
if you prefer.
How long is the lesson?
2 hrs - this includes getting suited up in your wetsuit and issuing you
a surfboard. We offer some helpful tips on how to put on a wettie and
will discuss board options to best suit your needs and the conditions.
Should I wear sunscreen ?
Yes, a SPF 50+ is recommended and/or Zinc. A wetsuit will cover
most of your body, so your face, neck and ears are best to cover with sunscreen.
Should I remove jewellery?
We recommend removing jewellery especially earrings and rings as these can be dislodged while in the water or from taking wetsuits on
and off.
Will you cancel the lesson if it's raining?
No. You get wet while surfing anyway so lessons will go ahead in the rain.
